Pizza near Linden Hills
Red Wagon started at the Linden Hills Farmers Market.
Before there was a restaurant, there was a trailer. Before the trailer, there were weekend pizza parties in Peter and Jacquie Campbell's kitchen in South Minneapolis. Friends came, then friends of friends, then people nobody could account for.
When the parties outgrew the house, Peter built a mobile wood-fired oven and hauled it to the market on Sundays. That was the first time anyone outside the neighborhood could buy a Red Wagon pizza. People stood in line in a parking lot for a pie that took ninety seconds to cook.
That trailer still runs. It's the same one we pull to weddings, block parties, graduation parties and company picnics across the Twin Cities. It didn't get retired when the restaurant opened. It got a schedule.

Where we are now
5416 Penn Ave S, about a mile east of Linden Hills and a few blocks south of Lake Harriet.
Close enough to walk on a good day. Close enough to bike without thinking about it. Easy from 44th & France, Upton, Sheridan, and everywhere around the lake.
We opened here in 2014, roughly a mile from where the pizza parties started.
What's here
Wood-fired pizza made with locally milled heritage wheat. Pasta made in house. Salads and appetizers built the same way.
Thirty-six beers on tap, wine, cocktails, and zero-proof options that aren't an afterthought.
A patio that fills the second it gets warm. Dogs are welcome out there, which matters if your walk around Lake Harriet ends with dinner.
We've been on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives twice, and voted Best Pizza, Best Beer Bar and Best Kid-Friendly Restaurant by Mpls-St. Paul Magazine and City Pages.
Coming from around the lake
Bandshell to Red Wagon is about ten minutes by bike. The patio is the natural end to a loop around Harriet, and we're used to people arriving in bike shorts.
